I am a determined person with a never ending imagination and a plethora of ideas. There are many materials I have experimented with, but my favorites are altered books, book making, and mixed media with paper and fibers
For many years now I have been teaching children and I love working with them. I am inspired by their carefree style and ability to always try again. It has become a goal of mine to bring out in adults their inner child’s creativity. Through teaching, I would like to foster a sense of wonder and confidence in art.
Aya – Defiance, I am not afraid of you
This is an Adinkra symbol from Ghana, West Africa. While in Ghana, after learning about the Adinkra symbols and their uses, I adopted Aya to represent me. I feel that this symbol best describe who I am and wish to be.
